Effectively Using Overture/Yahoo To Get Website Visitors

Overture, now known as Yahoo because of Yahoo’s takeover, was the original inventor of the use of the Pay for Performance (P4P ). Overture saw that the internet was fast becoming the easiest and most convenient way to shop, and advertising was going to hit at an all time high because of the many businesses in the arena.

To get a person to go to one site rather than others, the site needs to be very visible. Providing ads that direct potential consumers and customers to a client site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales. Yahoo provides a service that shows a site or company’s ad when certain keywords are input.

Yahoo offers a chance for any company to increase the number of visitors to their web site by using this service. With more people being aware of your site, there will be more traffic and visitors to your site given the chance to view your pages and your products. With even a small percentage of successful sales from a high traffic volume you could generate a substantial income for your company.

Get More Visitors

Getting a consistent substantial flow of web site visitors should be every on-line company’s goal. Many methods have been devised and utilized to increase the number of visitors to your site and to boost the awareness and sales of your products or services. Web site visitors are the life blood of your Internet based business.

Yahoo/Overture utilizes the same principle as Google’s Adwords. In fact, they are very similar to each other. This would mean that I don’t need to fully optimize my site with Search Engine Optimization methods and techniques, and I would still get traffic.

Free Still an Option

You can put in some labour and optimize your site so that it is one of the high ranking sites per keyword search, or you can pay and get the chance to be on the top of the list or at least in the first page of a search result. If you are on that first page, and your offer is sound, you will drive traffic and web site visitors to your site a lot faster.

Unfortunately, you will have to pony up some cash when using this service. There are several different ways that Yahoo/Overture will charge you. It may be on the number of Keywords or Keyword phrases your ad uses or on the number of times your ad is clicked on. Google offers many other related services like having your ad show up not only in the search engine pages but also on third party sites.

Third party sites support ads that have the same theme or niche as them. The more areas your ad is shown in, the more you increase the chances of people checking out your site or product. With more web site visitors you increase the chance of sales at your site which can make your investment in your ads a wise one. You must track the return on investment (ROI) of your ads, because even if an ad delivers an avalanche of visitors, they may not make any purchases or sign up for your information offerings.

With so much competition from other Internet based businesses, it is usually necessary to take a huge leap forward from the pack by advertising. Yahoo/Overture is a great place to start. Many successful entrepreneurs have utilized ad services and have reaped significant rewards on this investment. It’s a marketing strategy that can increase your web site visitors as well as increase your sales and thus your profit. Again, you must be sure that your visitors are not costing more than you are making on sales!

It takes money to make money, while not strictly true on the Internet, using a marketing service such as what Yahoo/Overture offers can provide results faster and on a larger scale. There are also some very good advertising methods that are low cost or free, but they tend to build your business much more slowly. Many business owners have learned this the hard way, and some have even given up on the Internet because of it. Don’t be counted among them.
